Installation Technician, Field/Service Technician
Base pay range
$29.33/hr - $37.00/hr
Securitas Technology Corporation (STC) Technology and Solutions groups are experiencing tremendous success, and we currently have an Embedded Technician opening for team-oriented individuals possessing vocational training in electronics or electromechanical engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for providing service on STC products at customer sites, handling all post‑installation problems on security systems and equipment, and participating in special project work as needed.
Responsibilities- Provide services for intrusion, CCTV, and access control security systems.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment/systems under contract agreement by inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, and calibrating systems and ensuring they are in satisfactory working order.
- Complete maintenance within assigned hours, reducing emergency calls and achieving the goal of zero call backs.
- Assist with the start-up of new equipment or system installation and adjust as needed to ensure the system is operational.
- Plan schedules, lay out basic electrical equipment installations, and assist in the start‑up and check‑out of new system installations.
- Present a professional image in personal and vehicle appearance.
- Perform work assignments safely and within specified cost limits.
- Promote, build, and maintain good customer relations and assist with contract retention.
- Maintain company proprietary documentation in accordance with established policies and adhere to all safety requirements.
- Stay abreast of changes and new developments in products and technology.
- Attend and complete training programs as requested.
- High School diploma or GED required;
Vocational/Technical Degree in electrical, security, or computer systems preferred. - Must be EL06 Licensed.
- Must hold a minimum of 1‑2 years of experience installing and/or servicing Access Control and CCTV.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server and Client environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of IP video and addressing.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 24 ft in height and carry items up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work on‑call on a rotational basis covering after‑hours & weekend emergency calls.
- A valid state driver’s license without restrictions is required.
- Preferred certifications: CCure 900, Lenel, Door Hardware troubleshooting, Software House Controllers, Automatic door openers, Video, Victor/Video Edge, Camera troubleshooting, Media Converter Fiber/IP Technology, Axis IP Camera.
