Security Officer

Gilman School is an independent, pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade college preparatory school located in Baltimore, Maryland. Since its founding in 1897, the school has been dedicated to educating boys holistically in mind, body, and spirit. This is a full-time on-site role located at our Baltimore, MD campus. The Security Officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors across the school premises. Duties include monitoring the campus, controlling access points, patrolling buildings and grounds, responding to emergencies, and enforcing safety procedures. The role also includes reporting incidents, maintaining detailed logs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm.

• Strong knowledge of safety protocols, risk assessment, and emergency response procedures
• Experience in security monitoring, surveillance, and access control systems
• Ability to solve problems, maintain situational awareness, and make quick decisions
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
• Physical fitness and the ability to navigate and patrol large facilities
• Experience in a security-related role is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced training in security or law enforcement is advantageous
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
