Position Summary

The Surgical Senior Sales Representative is an OR-based sales role with uncapped earnings potential. This position is based in Washington, D.C./Baltimore, MD and involves interaction with Surgeons, OR Coordinators and Economic buyers to communicate the value proposition of our products and services. Principal

Responsibilities
  • Attain quota through alignment with corporate objectives and required sales processes.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of surgical procedures and OR protocols related to our product portfolio.
  • Participate in a required number of surgical procedures weekly as assigned by the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Evaluate territory performance against objectives/guidelines (sales forecast, budget, new accounts, etc.) and take actions to improve results.
  • Communicate customer requirements and request support from other departments as needed to achieve objectives.
  • Cooperate with finance to ensure collection of accounts receivable by obtaining appropriate documents to minimize risk.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts by customer and product on a timely basis.
  • Ensure sales activities in the territory comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Recommend future growth areas such as acquisitions and new market strategies.
  • Assist in establishing sales objectives for the territory with the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Provide timely field reporting and special reports to assist in business and product planning for regional sales management.

Note:

This position requires direct contact with implantable devices.

Education / Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 8+ years of prior B2B or medical device sales experience with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • A minimum of 4 years of prior B2B or medical device sales experience with a demonstrated track record of success.
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and operate a motor vehicle with satisfactory driving records.
  • Carry and lift up to 30 lbs; lift equipment as required.
  • Be standing or walking in hospitals or at meetings for 6–10 hours per day, up to five days per week.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Establish and maintain credentials to enter hospital facilities as required (Rep Trax, Vendormate, etc.).
  • Live in the territory unless approved by the Vice President of Sales.
Travel

Up to 50% travel; specific role travel is 20–40% as stated in job posting.

Compensation & Benefits

The pay range at commencement is expected to be $160,000 (inclusive of commissions), with base pay varying by location, knowledge, skills and experience. Commissions vary by individual performance. Benefits include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off, including PTO, short- and long-term disability and parental leave, depending on the position offered.
