About the Role:

The Retail Accounting Analyst is responsible for all aspects of retail segment accounting, including but not limited to fixed assets, leases, acquisitions, order to cash process in the retail and ecommerce channels. The analyst monitors all transactional activity and performs analysis daily to identify and correct errors. The accountant ensures that all financial information flows correctly through various processes and is reflected accurately in financial statements.

Responsibilities include retail store support, cross-functional communication, assisting in GL activities, monthly close, and internal control processes.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze assets under construction ledger for correct classification, project capex spend, and perform ageing analysis on old balances.
• Analyze fixed assets register for correctness and accuracy.
• Control over lease activity (new store leases, modifications, terminations) to review data input for IFRS
  16 accounting, prepare monthly Variable Rent accruals, and partner with FP&A for forecasts.
• Analyze Actual Variable Rent Paid.
• Oversee periodic sales certificates prepared for Landlords.
• Attend cross-functional acquisition meetings, ensure accounting processes are followed, prepare acquisition PPA memo and journal entries for posting by GBS.
• Review reports from Accounts Payable software for account coding accuracy and ensure correct GL coding.
• Support US and CA retail stores, operations, and Retail IT teams.
• Provide banking supplies and change order details to stores, establish bank accounts, and serve as primary contact for Armored Car processes.
• Support stores and Loss Prevention with discrepancies and processing issues, analyze Property Taxes.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounting function within a global organization.
• Experience in retail, fashion, or FMCG industries preferred.
• Attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
• Highly reliable with a strong sense of accountability.
• Proactive thinking and self-motivation.
• Ability to prioritize deadlines and responsibilities.
• Extensive knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office; ERP systems experience (AX preferred).
• Knowledge of reporting applications (HFM experience a plus).

Salary in Baltimore: $76,000 - $95,000, commensurate with experience.
