We are seeking a Research Data Analyst who will provide data analysis and related activities for various types of research projects and studies. This position will contribute to ongoing development, maintenance, and use of a research data pipeline that collects and analyzes data.
The Research Data Analyst in the FEST and TCR Immunogenomics Core Facility will lead T cell receptor (TCR) pre-processing and sequencing analytics. This role will be active in the data pre-processing stages as well as analysis and interpretation of results for core facility users.
Responsibilities- Collect data and generate reports and models.
- Run models, analyze model results, and prepare reports on the analysis.
- Conduct analyses in support of the assigned research project or study.
- Conduct statistical analyses utilizing standard and statistical software packages.
- Design and prepare tables to illustrate analytic findings.
- Manage or contribute to entry of data in the assigned database.
- May engage in other research related responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Use computers and servers and apply knowledge of Linux/UNIX as well as other common operating systems such as Mac OS and Windows.
- Contribute to server configuration and troubleshooting.
- Use web-based scholarly search engines.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
- Three years of related experience.
- Experience with computers and servers and knowledge of Linux/UNIX as well as other common operating systems such as Mac OS and Windows.
- Experience with server configuration and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in R or Python is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in consulting with researchers and understanding their problems.
- Excellent writing and verbal skills in the preparation and presentation of reports. Excellent organizational skills and attention to details are required.
- Must be detail-oriented, focused, creative, and independent.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
- Coursework or work experience covering topics in statistics, molecular biology, genetics, and script-level programming.
- Proficiency with genomic data, tools, and databases.
- Familiarity with common computational biology tools.
- Experience with experimental design principles, reproducible research principles, and data storage, security, and safety.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English with excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with common computational biology tools and software packages, such as Bioconductor.
- Familiarity with T cell receptor immunogenomics and immunology is preferred.
