Position: Sr. Research Project Coordinator(Health, Behavior & Society) - #Staff

The Health Behavior and Society Department is seeking a Sr. Research Project Coordinator position.

The Sr. Research Project Coordinator oversees the day-to-day activities of a single complex or multiple research projects and makes independent decisions that impact the conduct of the research. Assists in goal setting and creating implementation plans. Contributes to budget formulation, communications, and data systems.

This position is responsible for coordinating research projects under the Gender Equity Unit in the Department of Health, Behavior & Society.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist the Principal Investigator or more senior research staff to ensure operational feasibility of proposed protocol/study design.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and data collection forms based on an understanding of the underlying study design.
  • Develop or oversee design and implementation of study procedures and tools for data collection, e.g., participant interviews, administer questionnaires; background research, laboratory processing, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all protocols, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Participate in developing the study budget.
  • Set up a data collection system and ensure the validity of study data.
  • Organize and quality control study data
  • Recommend and implement changes to protocol operations based on results and goals.
  • Conduct literature searches to provide background information.
  • Abstract and index information based on knowledge of subject matter.
  • Other duties as assigned.

In addition to the duties described above

  • Coordinate with research partners in low- and middle-income countries.
  • Contribute to quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis, as skills permit.
  • Contribute to the development of dissemination products, including journal manuscripts, presentations, research briefs, and fact sheets.
  • International travel as needed for data collection, trainings, and project monitoring.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Three years of related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in a related field.
