Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Landscape Crew Leader, Maintenance to supervise and work alongside a team of technicians to complete high‑quality landscape maintenance and installation work. The Landscape Crew Leader, Maintenance plays a critical leadership role in daily field operations, ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and up to company standards. As the primary field representative, the Landscape Crew Leader, Maintenance interacts with clients, supports crew development, and ensures operational excellence.

Key Accountabilities – Landscape Crew Leader, Maintenance Field Operations & Task Execution
  • Perform hands‑on landscaping tasks including planting, mulching, pruning, soil work, and material handling.
  • Operate mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers, and other equipment.
  • Ensure all tasks meet safety standards and project specifications.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
Crew Leadership & Supervision
  • Provide clear daily direction to landscape technicians.
  • Train new crew members and reinforce best practices.
  • Lead by example to maintain productivity, quality, and professionalism.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and monitor safety compliance.
  • Maintain high performance and morale within the Landscape Crew Leader, Maintenance team.
Customer & Supervisor Communication
  • Interact professionally with clients on job sites.
  • Communicate updates, concerns, and progress to supervisors.
  • Serve as the service‑focused voice of the company in all client interactions.
Recordkeeping & Reporting
  • Track daily labor hours, materials, and job progress.
  • Verify timesheets, job logs, and documentation.
  • Support site audits, change orders, and material deliveries.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce safe work practices and require PPE usage.
  • Identify hazards and take action to prevent incidents.
  • Participate in ongoing safety training and enforce compliance among the crew.

Additional tasks may be assigned based on business needs.

Experience & Qualifications – Landscape Crew Leader, Maintenance
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 2–3 years of landscaping experience.
    • 1+ years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Licensing:
    Valid driver's license required; DOT card or equipment certifications are a bonus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of landscape maintenance techniques.
    • Ability to lead and motivate a crew.
    • Proficient with landscaping equipment.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to multitask and adapt in fast‑paced environments.

Working Conditions &

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions: heat, cold, rain, wind, and sun.
  • Exposure to dust, pollen, noise, and various landscape materials.
  • Work may occur on uneven terrain, near traffic, or within construction environments.
  • Must be available for early shifts, overtime, or weekend work as needed.
