Medical Director - Veterinarian

We are looking for an experienced veterinarian with robust skills in general practice medicine and surgery to assume the role of Medical Director.

In this position, you will lead a committed team of veterinary professionals while ensuring high-quality patient care and steering clinical decision-making and team development.

• Setting the standard for medical and surgical excellence through exemplary practice.
• Mentoring both veterinarians and support staff to enhance their skills and confidence.
• Supporting the operational functions of the hospital and fostering a positive team culture.
• Collaborating closely with hospital leadership to establish clinical protocols and streamline workflows.

• Oversee and administer preventive care, diagnostics, and management of chronic diseases.
• Perform a range of soft tissue surgeries, including but not limited to spays, neuters, mass removals, and foreign body surgeries.
• Provide comprehensive dental care, including extractions supported by radiographic evaluations.
• Foster a Fear Free practice environment that prioritizes compassionate, client-centered care.

• A DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Current licensure (or eligibility for licensure) to practice veterinary medicine in Maryland.
• A minimum of three years of experience in small animal practice.
• Demonstrated clinical proficiency in general soft tissue surgeries and dental procedures.
• Previous leadership or mentoring experience is highly desirable.
• A strong passion for coaching, collaboration, and delivering gold-standard veterinary medicine.
