Description:

The Neuro Critical Care Unit provides specialized care for patients with severe brain injuries, strokes, or brain tumors.
Patients are often post-operative from neurosurgical procedures.
The team specializes in post-operative neurosurgical care for neurologically complex patients.
These patients may have conditions such as stroke, brain tumors, and nerve and muscle diseases.
Care providers in this unit must interface between the brain and other vital organ systems.
Weekend shifts involve working 3 of 6 weekends.
Call responsibilities include being on-call 2 times within a 6-week schedule.
Holiday work is required as needed.
Floating to other areas of similar skill set may be necessary.
