Physician Assistant / Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – General and Multispecialty Surgery – Full Time. Day & Night shifts with On Call Requirement at Med Star Good Samaritan & Union Memorial Hospital. Join a growing team of 13 highly skilled Advanced Practice Providers at Med Star Medical Group, offering hands‑on training from surgeons, residents, and fellow APPs and exposure to multiple surgical specialties.
Requirements for Nurse Practitioners: must be an ACNP. FNPs are not eligible. NP candidates must have completed the RN First Assist course to be considered.
Job Summary- First Assist in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, GYN, Limb Salvage, and Vascular surgery procedures
- Perioperative patient management
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic lab tests
- Conducting surgical history and physical exams
- Inpatient rounding and consultations
- Wound care and bedside procedures under direct and indirect supervision
- Perform medication reconciliation and arrange appropriate post‑discharge follow‑up for all surgical patients
- Patient/family education
- Collaborate with physicians, residents, and other clinical staff to maintain continuity of care
- Participate in developing, reviewing, and revising medical/surgical protocols
- Assist in training staff and students
- Actively participate in weekly educational sessions and CME offerings

The salary range for this position is between $115,000 and $143,619.
