Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) position with direct open-heart surgery recovery experience and proficiency in advanced cardiac monitoring and support devices.

• 18-bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) in a large academic hospital setting (500+ beds)
• Patient population includes post-cardiac surgery, cardiac transplant, lung transplant, ventricular assist device (VAD) placement, and other complex cardiothoracic procedures
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2
• Rotating day/evening shift schedule (7A/7P rotation), with straight PM shifts also considered
• Experience with ventilator management, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheter, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive drip titration, Level 1 IABP, and ECMO required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Orientation is held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
• Local candidates are accepted at the standard rate
• 13-week contract assignment

• Active MD or Compact RN license currently in hand
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred;
  Critical Care Certification and trauma course also preferred
• Minimum experience required in a dedicated open-heart/cardiac surgery ICU receiving patients directly from the OR
• Experience with post-op cardiac surgery patient recovery in an ICU setting required
• Experience with vents, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheters, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive drip titration, Level 1 IABP, and ECMO required
• Experience at a comparable large facility (500+ licensed beds) required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
