Under general supervision, provides direct patient care to assigned patients.

Education

Associate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required.

Licensures/Certifications
  • Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification from an affiliated American Heart Association training site.
  • Additional Certifications (i.e., ALS, PALS, NRP) required upon hire for specialty areas.
Experience

One-year Registered Nurse experience required.

  • Proficiency in developing nursing plan of care, implementing effective nursing care, and evaluating outcomes of nursing intervention.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with computer programs.
  • Demonstrated skill in patient experience and service recovery.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assessment: compile database and formulate nursing diagnosis, utilize physical assessment and interviewing techniques, anticipate interventions, determine priorities, reassess as indicated.
  • Planning: initiate and update a written nursing plan of care incorporating scientific and psychosocial principles; incorporate information from planning conferences; coordinate patient, family, and team members in care planning.
  • Implementation: perform clinical nursing skills independently; administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments accurately; initiate appropriate emergency procedures; delegate and coordinate duties of ancillary personnel; document and communicate patient status to physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals; teach patients and families; coordinate patient care and activities; mentor new staff when competent; serve as charge RN when competent.
  • Teaching and Quality Improvement: develop, document, and implement patient teaching and discharge planning records; participate in education programs; conduct clinical monitoring; identify and address unit, staff, and patient care problems.
  • Professional Excellence: participate in RN 3 activities except facilitator of Nurse Residency Program; serve as charge RN; precept new staff as appropriate.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk almost constantly up to 90% of work time and lift and position patients up to 50% of work time.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail in stressful situations.
Working Conditions
  • Normal patient care environment with possible exposure to noise, dust, temperature changes.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases due to patient care activities.

Pay Range

$31.25 - $48.02 per hour. Final salary offer will be based on qualifications, education, experience, and alignment with our needs.
