We are seeking an Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our medical practice with offices in Ellicott City, Lutherville and Glen Burnie. The candidate will be working in the Ellicott City and Lutherville offices. We are looking for a candidate that is compassionate, motivational and provides excellent patient care and comfortable treating patients of all ages, Having experience managing acute/chronic allergy and asthma conditions is not required.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to work at a thriving practice with a board certified allergist/ immunologist.
Excellent opportunity to join an established practice:
- Employment is 38-40 hours per week
- No weekends
- Nurse Practitioner license required (APN, APRN ) or Nurse Practitioner with current license in Maryland
- or Physician Assistant license required with current license in Maryland
- Current Maryland CDS and DEA license (or obtainable)
- Excellent communication skills and must work well in a team environment
- Assess, plan and treat patients needs within a specialty care setting
- Assess, plan and treat patients of all ages under supervision of a physician (when necessary)
- Take and/or review patients histories and vital signs as necessary
- Diagnosis and treatment of allergy and immunology systems
- Order labs, tests, injections and prescribe medications
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies, such as laboratory tests and radiological examinations
- Consult with physician on medical care of patients (when necessary)
- Patient education re: diagnosis/course of treatment, and communicate with other clinical staff
- Create an individualized plan of care based on assessment of the patient
- Maintain an adequate patient flow on site by providing direction to clinical and front desk staff
- Provide accurate and timely documentation – completing EMR charting and dictation by the end of the day
- Be a mentor to the clinical staff
