We are hiring an experienced Operating Room/Perioperative/Surgical Services Nurse Leader for our state‑of‑the‑art Surgical Pavilion.

Qualifications
  • BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Prior clinical nursing experience preferred.
  • Active MD RN license or active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop unit/department goals, objectives, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the Director of Nursing.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital/entity policies, clinical practice guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Build effective relationships across disciplines and departments to ensure efficient, quality patient care.
  • Participate in hospital capacity‑management efforts; oversee unit activities and patient throughput.
  • Develop performance standards for associates, conduct evaluations, and manage performance plans.
  • Provide regular performance reviews and ongoing feedback to associates.
  • Maintain communication with senior nursing leaders during the Director of Nursing’s absence.
  • Assist in budgeting and support organizational objectives, ensuring material and equipment availability.
  • Implement strategies to optimize patient‑care delivery and outcomes; lead interdisciplinary care model (IMOC).
  • Conduct patient rounds to engage, gauge satisfaction, and improve care experience.
  • Investigate and follow‑up on patient complaints and safety events.
  • Support quality and patient‑safety initiatives; lead unit‑based safety huddles.
  • Escalate service concerns per chain of command; ensure compliance with national patient‑safety goals.
  • Participate in performance‑improvement opportunities based on findings.
  • Participate in hiring, evaluation, promotion, and termination activities for unit personnel.
  • Coach and counsel associates; monitor staffing levels.
  • Collaborate with other nurse leaders to ensure associate competencies and plan orientation and training programs.
  • Maintain competency documentation, licensure, and specialty certifications for self and associates.
  • Model professional practice behaviors and provide shift‑based clinical leadership.
  • Represent the hospital in committees, task forces, and community outreach.
  • Contribute to Magnet Recognition or Pathways to Excellence program.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and engage in professional development activities.
  • Assume administrative responsibilities in the Director of Nursing’s absence.
  • Maintain clinical knowledge and provide direct care for patients as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program required;
    Master’s degree in Nursing or a health‑related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3–4 years of progressive nursing care experience required; leadership and management experience preferred.
