Overview
Unit 45 Short Stay Unit Registered Nurse 1, 7p-7a with a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities- Utilization of Nursing Process:
Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. - Assessment:
Compile database, formulate nursing diagnoses, use physical assessment and interviewing techniques, anticipate needs for intervention by other disciplines, determine priorities for patient care. - Planning:
Initiate and update a written nursing plan of care, incorporate information from nursing care planning conferences, coordinate patient and family with health team members for hospital and post-discharge care. - Implementation:
Perform clinical nursing skills independently, administer medications and IV therapy, initiate emergency procedures, delegate and coordinate duties of ancillary personnel, document and communicate patient status and plan of care to physicians and health care professionals. - Patient Care Coordination:
Manage daily patient assignment, delegate responsibilities, coordinate activities with other disciplines. - Teaching and Quality Improvement:
Develop and document patient teaching and discharge planning records; participate in education programs and clinical monitoring; identify problems and take action or refer as needed; participate in the Nurse Residency Program (NRP). - Positive engagement in NRP sessions and completion of program requirements.
- Education:
Associate degree from an accredited School of Nursing required. - Licensures/
Certifications:
Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Registered Nurse;
Healthcare Provider CPR (biennial). - Experience:
None required. - Skills:
Interpersonal communication (oral and written) to educate and comfort patients and families, maintain documentation; proficiency in developing nursing plans of care, implementing care, and evaluating outcomes.
- Pay Range: $31.25 - $48.02 per hour. Final offer based on qualifications, education, experience, and organizational needs.
