Overview

Unit 42 (Medicine/Telemetry/Oncology) Registered Nurse 2, 7:00PM-7:30AM, $5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS!!!

• Under general supervision, provides direct patient care to assigned patients.
• Utilization of Nursing Process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care; prioritization and reassessment as condition changes; coordination with health team members; documentation of patient status and plan of care.

• Education:
  
  Associate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Liscensures/
  
  Certifications:
  
  Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Registered Nurse;
  Healthcare Provider CPR biennial;
  Additional certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) for specialty care areas are required upon hire.
• Experience:
  
  One-year Registered Nurse experience required.
• Skills:
  
  Proficiency in developing nursing plans of care, effective communication, organizational skills, analytical skills, and computer program proficiency; patient experience and service recovery.

• Follow Nursing Process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation; compile database and formulate nursing diagnoses; perform physical assessments and interviews; recognize needs for intervention by other disciplines; determine priorities for patient care; reassess as indicated.
• Planning: initiate and update written nursing care plans; incorporate information from care planning conferences; coordinate patient, family, and health team in hospital and post-discharge planning.
• Implementation: perform clinical nursing skills independently; administer medications, IV therapy and treatments; initiate emergency procedures when necessary; delegate and supervise ancillary staff; document and communicate patient status and plan of care to physicians, nursing staff, and others; educate patient and family.
• Patient Care Coordination: manage daily patient assignments; delegate responsibilities and monitor care delivered by ancillary staff; coordinate activities with other disciplines.
• Teaching and Quality Improvement: document and implement patient teaching and discharge planning; participate in education programs and unit-level clinical monitoring; identify problems and refer to appropriate resources; participate in RN 3 activities if competent; may act as charge RN and precept new staff if competent.

• Pay Range: $31.25 - $48.02 per hour; final offer based on qualifications, education, and organizational needs.
