CLIN NURSE II – NEURO INTENSIVE CARE

Location: Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center – Tennessee

Employment: Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Night Shift

Overview: Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center is an award‑winning, accredited 468‑bed facility with a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center. Covenant Health operates the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in the region, offering state‑of‑the‑art neuro‑critical care.

Position Summary

Provides professional nursing care within the Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Coordinates care planning with other disciplines and leads the delivery of evidence‑based neurocritical care.

Responsibilities
  • Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital, nursing home, and home care settings.
  • Assesses learning needs of patients and families.
  • Develops and initiates plan of care, involving patient and family.
  • Recommends interventions and evaluates plan of care.
  • Resolves problems regarding moderately complex issues without supervision.
  • Precepts employees and students; reviews clinical performance of preceptees.
  • Performs critical care nursing skills appropriate for the age‑specific population served.
  • Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs and sitters.
  • Follows policies, procedures and safety standards; completes required education annually.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Education:

    Tennessee State RN licensure.
  • Minimum Experience:

    At least one (1) year of professional nursing experience.
  • Licensure:
    Tennessee State RN; CPR required.
