Overview
Registered Nurse (PRN) – Grace Medical Center – ER. The RN provides nursing care to patients in compliance with the Maryland Nurse Practice Act, Standards of Practice and those defined by ANA, ENA, BSBHS, and organization protocols, policies, procedures and guidelines. Develops, implements, evaluates and revises the plan of care based on physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs of the patient and family.
Assesses patients for changes that may hinder recovery. Collaborates with staff, physicians and other disciplines to provide quality care delivery. Maintains clinical knowledge and skills competency to facilitate patient care in accordance with current standards of practice. Provides for a safe patient care environment.
Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. Assess patient conditions, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and adjust care plans as needed. Maintain safe, effective, and compassionate care; continuously update knowledge and skills.
Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current RN licensure with Maryland Board of Nursing or Compact State, if resident of that state.
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience in Emergency Services or 3–5 years of other acute care experience (preferred).
- BLS required.
- ACLS within 6 months of hire.
- PALS and Hazmat within one year of hire.
- Certification in Emergency Nursing preferred.
- Completes orientation according to policy/procedures.
The new Emergency Department at Grace Medical Center features a 17,000 square foot space with private treatment rooms and a collaborative workflow among physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and other clinicians. Negative pressure rooms are available for isolation of infectious diseases (e.g., COVID-19). A behavioral health treatment pod serves patients in psychiatric or behavioral health crisis. The department includes the latest CT scanner for early diagnosis of conditions such as strokes and heart attacks.
