The Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) is a 32‑bed adult inpatient surgical unit offering three levels of care: floor, telemetry, and intermediate care for acute cardiac, vascular, and other surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring. Care and services include coronary artery bypass, Heart Mate II or III & Heart Ware mechanical circulatory support devices, valve replacement or repairs, type A & B aortic dissections, fem‑pop bypass, scalenectomy, TAVR, heart or lung transplantation.

During the week there is an experienced resource nurse available to assist with admissions/discharges, transport monitoring, and emergencies. Registered Nurses (RNs) will participate in a full orientation including core department of surgery and critical care classes.

• Associate degree from an Accredited Nursing Program is required. BSN/MSN matriculation required within 1 year of hire and completion of degree within 5 years of hire.
• Applicants with an Associate’s degree – JHH provides Tuition Reimbursement towards earning your BSN/MSN.
• Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• Acute Care RN work experience required.

• Nurses hired with an Associate’s degree in nursing must enroll in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of your start date.

Salary Range:
Minimum $38.49/hour – Maximum $59.66/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
