Overview

The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Burn Center is the only adult burn center in Maryland verified by the American Burn Association. Opened in 1968, the Center provides high-quality burn care with an inpatient Burn Unit, an Outpatient Burn Wound Clinic, and a Scar Revision Clinic. We offer the latest research and technologies for treating burn-related injuries from flames, chemicals, electricity, and scalds, and provide treatment for complicated skin infections and other wounds.

Join the Burn Unit as a Burn Registered Nurse (RN).

• Pain management, fluid balance, critical care, stabilizing acutely burned patients, trauma recovery, and rehabilitation.
• Care for post-operative patients who undergo skin grafting or skin transplants.
• Monitor and address infection risk; infection is common due to impaired skin integrity.
• Familiarization with complex dressings for complex wounds.
• Support patients in the Burn Unit as they heal from burn injuries.
• Be prepared to stand for long hours to complete dressings and assist with patient showers.

• RN license in Maryland or a compact state.
• CPR (AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network).
• Associate Degree in Nursing; enrollment in a BSN program within one year of hire and completion within five years of hire.
• Previous ICU experience is a plus; minimum 1 year ICU experience required.

Salary Range:
Minimum $38.49/hour - Maximum $59.66/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
