Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a surgical/urology/thoracic IMC unit with 2 years of recent nursing experience and dysrhythmia management skills required.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital setting on a surgical/urology/thoracic intermediate care (IMC) unit
- Provides pre and post-operative bedside care for adult inpatients
- Unit offers multiple levels of care, including acute, telemetry, and intermediate care with continuous vital sign and some advanced monitoring
- Shift is 12-hour days from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Floating as needed to similar skill set areas within 11 West, including IMC and Med/Surg levels
- Preferred experience with Epic EMR
- Responsible for caring for adult surgical, urology, and thoracic patients in an intermediate care setting
- Care involves bedside monitoring with advanced equipment and telemetry
- Orientation provided on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month
- Locals are eligible at the same rate except where otherwise noted
- Holiday and weekend coverage may be required depending on unit needs
- First time travelers considered if requirements are met
- Active MD or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience
- Experience managing dysrhythmias required
- Experience in IMC or PCU settings, including surgical patient care
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Prior experience in facilities with 500+ bed count required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Preferred prior travel assignments (1-2 completed)
