Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) Nurse – Maryland

Start Date: February 2, 2026
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 40 hours orientation | Float to overflow units as needed

Highlights:

• Primary focus on CVICU patient population with mixed ICU overflow responsibilities
• Manage post-cardiac surgery patients, including fresh admits directly from OR
• Work with advanced cardiac technologies including IABP, Impella, VADs, and ECMO protocols
• Cerner charting system in use
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and more
• Must have experience admitting and managing fresh cardiac patients

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required, with at least 2 years as staff CVICU nurse
• Valid Maryland or Compact state RN license at time of submission
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and CALS
• 16-hour Maryland Approved Trauma Certification required by week 27
• Experience with post-cardiac surgery care, dysrhythmia management, and cardiac drip titration
• Proficiency in managing advanced cardiac equipment including pulmonary artery lines, arterial lines, central lines, and cardiac assist devices
• Ability to float to all areas including Emergency Department as needed
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
