Locum Jobs Online is working with Barton Associates to find a qualified Pulmonology NP in Maryland!
We are seeking a Pulmonology Nurse Practitioner for a 21-day locum tenens assignment in Maryland. This opportunity begins on Jan 19, 2026, and involves two half-day outpatient clinic sessions per week on Tuesdays and Fridays. The Nurse Practitioner will support urgent and post-hospital follow-up visits for established patients within the Interstitial Lung Disease group.

- Provider Type Needed:
Pulmonology Nurse Practitioner - Schedule:
Tuesdays 1pm-5pm, Fridays 8am-12pm
- Provide urgent outpatient care for established Interstitial Lung Disease patients, including sick visits and post-hospital follow-ups
- Assess severity of illness and determine need for outpatient treatment, referral to the emergency department, or admission, in collaboration with the supervising physician
- Guide outpatient management, including obtaining respiratory viral panels, prescribing oral antibiotics, and recommending supportive measures
- Coordinate with the ILD nurse to evaluate and adjust oxygen prescriptions as indicated
- Review hospital discharge medications and ensure patient and caregiver understanding of changes
- Confirm patient stability and improvement following hospital discharge
- Work alongside a physician who will serve as a clinical resource
- Participate in orientation with the current APP prior to starting
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in Maryland required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Acceptable board certifications:
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP-BC), Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification - Adult Gerontology (ACNPC-AG), Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
