The Registered Nurse (RN) - Accreditation Specialist is responsible for developing and managing the VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS) Accreditation and standards compliance. Provides program oversight and coordination of VAMHCS external review programs to include The Joint Commission (TJC), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), Office of the Inspector General (OIG), and Office of the Medical Inspector (OMI). Provides accreditation expertise by consulting with the services/subject experts and integrates the expertise of both clinical and administrative skills.
Provides management and communication of data, use of information technology, and knowledge of quality management practices.

- Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

Basic Requirements:
- English Language Proficiency. In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE);
