Unit OverviewWeinberg 4D GYN-ONC is a 9‑bed inpatient unit serving the Kelly Gynecologic Oncology Service (KGOS), the GYN service, and the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) service. The majority of our patients are GYN‑Oncology patients. The unit primarily focuses on post‑surgical nursing care for patients admitted through the PACU, but it also accepts admissions from the ED, clinic, infusion centers, and other hospitals.
The unit additionally cares for women undergoing gender‑transition surgery and for patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Staff often care for women with GYN cancer facing end‑of‑life issues. We value teamwork and interpersonal connections.
- Provide nursing care for women with cancer of the ovary, uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes, vulva, and vagina.
- Care for women admitted for benign GYN diagnoses and, on occasion, women with complications from fertility treatments.
- Deliver post‑surgical care for patients admitted through the PACU.
- Administer chemotherapy and support patients undergoing radiation therapy.
- Provide compassionate care to women with GYN cancer facing end‑of‑life decision making.
12 hour day shift
Qualifications- BSN or MSN preferred; must be from an accredited nursing program.
- Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited program may be considered if enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of hire.
- Active Maryland or Compact RN license required.
- BLS CPR certification (AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted).
- RN work experience required; previous GYN/Oncology experience preferred.
Minimum $36.31/hour – Maximum $56.28/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
