The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Johns Hopkins Hospital is a 28-bed unit providing comprehensive medical and surgical intensive care for children from birth to 21 years old. As Maryland’s only Level 1 pediatric trauma center and state-designated pediatric burn ICU, the PICU cares for children up to 15 years of age with complex diagnoses including respiratory failure, metabolic disorders, seizure disorders, multi-organ failure, shock, toxic ingestions, and neonatal and pediatric ECMO.
Our surgical services encompass extensive general, cardiac, thoracic, orthopedic, and neurologic procedures.

Role: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Shifts: 12‑hour Night Shift – 24 hours per week. Night shift is required to work 2 Fridays, 1 Saturday, 1 Sunday, 1 Monday pm per 6‑week schedule in addition to core shifts. Must work 5 out of 6 weekends in a 6‑week schedule.
Qualifications- BSN/MSN from an accredited nursing program preferred. Applicants with an Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited program may be considered if enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within one year of hire and completing the degree within five years.
- Active Maryland or Compact RN license required.
- BLS CPR certification (AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted).
- Minimum of one year of RN experience in a pediatric critical care setting.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship applicants will not be considered).
Salary Range: Minimum $38.49/hour – Maximum $59.66/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
