The Machinist II is a skilled-level machinist responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of manual coiling and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts. This role requires the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, follow detailed specifications, and ensure high-quality production with minimal supervision.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES &

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and operate coiling and CNC manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and other machine tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions.
  • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, speeds, and feeds for efficient and accurate machining.
  • Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, and other measuring devices.
  • Adjust machine settings to maintain tolerances and meet quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, including tool wear, material inconsistencies, and programming errors.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including job travelers, inspection reports, and equipment logs.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure safe, reliable operation.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve processes.
  • Comply with all safety standards, company policies, and ISO/AS quality requirements.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience, including coiling and CNC operation and setup.
  • Proficiency with machining math, including geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of materials
  • Technical/vocational training in machining
  • Experience with basic CNC program editing

SALARY RANGE:

$25.00 - $32.00/Hour based on experience
