The Maintenance Technician supports and, when required, leads the installation, upkeep, and repair of manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operations in compliance with company standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Install, service, overhaul, and maintain production machinery and mechanical systems to optimize uptime and reduce operational interruptions.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities in accordance with established maintenance programs.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond promptly to equipment or facility emergencies as needed.
- Communicate regularly with the Maintenance Supervisor and production teams to review equipment status and performance.
- Conduct root cause analyses to improve equipment reliability, service life, and overall operational efficiency.
- Foster positive working relationships and maintain clear, open communication with team members and plant personnel.
- Manage labor, materials, and parts efficiently to support cost-effective project completion.
- Serve as a technical resource to equipment operators and assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues.
- Procure parts, tools, and supplies as necessary to complete maintenance and repair tasks.
- Assess assigned work orders, define objectives, and plan tasks to ensure successful completion within established time frames.
- Anticipate potential challenges, safety concerns, and process impacts related to equipment and personnel.
- Complete maintenance projects on schedule and within approved budgets.
- Test and verify proper equipment operation following repairs or modifications.
- Maintain technical proficiency by staying current with evolving technologies, tools, and industry best practices.
- Provide ongoing updates to the Maintenance Supervisor regarding plant conditions that may affect safety, quality, or costs.
- Adhere to all safety policies, work rules, regulatory requirements, and housekeeping standards.
