Professional Recruiter at Insight GlobalInsight Global is seeking 2 Electrical Inspectors to support multiple vertical construction renovation projects in the Washington D.C. area for one of our largest clients. These individuals will contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects. This role involves confirming compliance with project design and specifications, industry standards for electrical systems. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of electrical installations while collaborating with a team of professionals dedicated to excellence.
RequiredSkills & Experience
- 8+ years of total experience / flexible with certs and years of experience
- Federal experience or university experience vertical/renovations
- Commercial electrical experience (120/208, data centers experience will not work; too high of voltages and these projects and equipment can be atypical)
- NEC/NFPA familiarity and ability to review drawings and specs
- Understanding of local code
- CQM-C
- University experience/federal
- Owners representative experience as an electrical inspector
- Knowledge if PMI systems like Procore
- Monitor the installation of wiring, conduits, panels, lighting, and power systems to confirm proper execution
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and energization of electrical systems
- Conduct detailed inspections of electrical installations, materials, and equipment for adherence to contract specifications, codes, and safety standards
- Coordinate with other inspectors and disciplines to resolve electrical system integration issues
- Review contractor shop drawings and submittals to confirm alignment with project specifications
- Identify, document and report non-conformances, coordinating with contractors and engineers to implement corrective actions
- Conduct labor interviews to verify proper worker classification and wage compliance
- Immediately notify contractors and relevant officials of any potentially life‑threatening safety conditions
- Maintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and records for quality assurance and compliance tracking
- Oversee corrective actions for unacceptable construction work and support final inspections, punch lists, and project closeouts
- Witness and document critical tests, such as pressure tests, leak tests, and system start‑ups
- Verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment installations to confirm adherence to project specifications
Job Type: 6‑month contract to hire opportunity
Hourly Pay: $55-$63/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
