Job Summary
Up To Date Laundry provides laundry services to the healthcare industry in Maryland, D.C., and surrounding areas. We're staffing up and invite you to apply and be a part of this important work for the healthcare community. Training is provided. We have two plants in Baltimore for your convenience with day and night shifts to fit your personal schedule.
Laundry Operators perform different tasks such as:
- Sorting linen by likeness such as sheets, towels, blankets, and gowns then placing them bins so they can be washed
- Placing washed linen pieces into one end of an automatic ironer while a co-worker catches them on the opposite end and folds them
- Taking inventory of items, packing them in to carts, and labeling them in preparation for delivery back to the customer
- Working on other laundry operation tasks as assigned
Experience
No experience is necessary. Training is provided.

- Requires flexibility in performing a variety of general labor duties to meet production needs

The production department is a warehouse/plant environment that is not climate controlled and requires adaptability to fluctuating temperatures. The plant operates 7 days a week; flexibility working weekends and major holidays is necessary. Varying levels of Personal Protective Equipment are required based on production tasks performed.

Must be able to perform tasks that require repetitive motion. Work involves pulling, pushing, bending, twisting. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, reach above head, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, talk, hear, close and long-distant vision required, use of fingers and hands to feel objects or tools or controls. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 600 pounds.
