Dining Services Facilities Manager (Hopkins Dining)
Johns Hopkins University is inviting applications for the Dining Services Facilities Manager role. The position reports to the Executive Director of Operations and focuses on maintaining a safe and efficient dining environment for students, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities- Act as the primary point of contact for all dining equipment, services, and maintenance needs within Hopkins Dining.
- Manage service requests, track them in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and ensure timely resolution.
- Serve as the 24‑hour on‑call emergency contact for dining facilities and make decisions for emergency situations.
- Develop and execute preventative maintenance plans to keep equipment and facilities at peak performance, safety, and sanitary standards.
- Coordinate work performed by internal teams and external contractors at Hopkins Dining locations.
- Create and maintain a furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) inventory in collaboration with Finance.
- Engage external vendors to build relationships and oversee preventative and repair maintenance services.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to identify improvement opportunities related to safety, sanitation, and operational areas.
- Work with Finance, Operations and Administration to prioritize facility improvements and monitor maintenance contract costs.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong prioritization of multiple projects.
- Excellent organizational and independent judgment skills.
- Project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Capability to exchange routine and non‑routine information with tact and persuasion.
- Associate’s Degree.
- Five years of relevant experience in building maintenance, safety compliance, management, and customer service.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
- Five to seven years managing service, repair, and maintenance of food‑service facilities and equipment.
- Experience in a university setting and with bargaining units.
- Operational supervisory experience.
- Essential personnel; will be on‑call via phone as needed.
- Required to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Location:
Homewood Campus. - Schedule:
5 days a week with some weekend and evening hours. - FLSA Status:
Exempt.
