Legal Assistant

Description We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to support litigation processes in Baltimore, Maryland. This contract role requires someone with a keen attention to detail and a strong background in civil litigation and court procedures. The ideal candidate will assist with file management, courtroom activities, and trial preparation.

Responsibilities:

- Organize and maintain physical and electronic legal files to ensure accessibility and accuracy.

- Manage e-filing and civil court filings in compliance with local regulations.

- Handle calendar management to track court dates, deadlines, and appointments.

- Assist in courtroom procedures, including supporting attorneys during trials and hearings.

- Prepare and organize trial documents and evidence for litigation purposes.

- Coordinate with legal teams to ensure timely submission of filings and documentation.

- Attend court sessions and provide on-site support for case proceedings.

- Review and update legal files to maintain up-to-date records.

- Collaborate with attorneys to facilitate smooth litigation processes.

- Ensure proper handling and security of sensitive legal information. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in civil litigation or a related legal support role.

- Proficiency in e-filing systems and court filing procedures.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines.

- Familiarity with courtroom practices and legal terminology.

- Experience in calendar management for legal cases and deadlines.

- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling legal documentation.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced litigation environment.

- Excellent communication skills to interact with attorneys, court staff, and legal teams.
