RISC Lawyer (International Trade – EAR, OFAC, Customs)

Location: Washington, DC

Experience: 3 - 7 years

Salary: $280,000 – $420,000, based on experience

Ready to take your international trade experience to the next level, with a firm that actually gets global? Our client is a big-thinking, boundary-breaking law firm looking for a RISC (Regulations, Investigations, Securities, and Compliance) lawyer to join their dynamic, cross-border team.

This isn’t just another regulatory role. This is a chance to help clients navigate the real-world twists of export controls, sanctions, customs, and international trade law all while working alongside smart, supportive colleagues who genuinely like what they do.

Responsibilities:

• Guiding clients through EAR, OFAC, and customs / tariff requirements
• Helping with everything from compliance programs to internal investigations, government filings, and audits
• Drafting clear, business-friendly advice
• Collaborating with folks across practices and time zones to solve complex, high-stakes challenges

Skills:

• Know your way around export controls, sanctions, and customs rules
• Can communicate complicated stuff in a way that makes sense to clients
• Have experience or interest in things like FCPA, CFIUS, or national security work
• Have a JD from a U.S. law school and are admitted to practice in Washington DC jurisdiction
• Preferably have experience at a Big Law firm
