Overview
Gordon Feinblatt's Commercial Litigation Practice Group is looking for an associate litigation attorney, preferably with 2-4 years of civil litigation experience in Maryland state and federal courts. The position starts in Fall 2025. A prior judicial clerkship is a plus but not required. Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed in Maryland.
A typical day includes advising clients on litigation process and strategy, researching legal issues, drafting, managing a busy docket with independence, and representing clients in court proceedings and alternative dispute resolution processes. Strong writing and communication skills are required, and writing samples will be assessed as part of the application.
The role reports to the litigation department chair and experienced team members, with significant client interaction and opportunities to develop a practice. The expectation is that the successful lawyer will handle increasingly complex matters with minimal supervision while benefiting from the firm’s collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Drafting and responding to litigation in state and federal courts
- Participating in mediations
- Representing clients at depositions, hearings, motions, and trials
- Working collaboratively with other departments
- Providing strategic legal advice
The firm supports associate development through mentoring, an internal education program, and a business development program with marketing support. Associates are encouraged to engage in firm and community life.
Qualifications- 2-4 years of experience representing clients on civil matters in Maryland state and federal courts
- Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed in Maryland

Salary Range: $130,000-$145,000

Work ArrangementWhen not representing clients, the litigation team is generally in the office four days a week, with potential for a second remote day as independence grows.
