About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Windows Systems Administrator to join our Classified Solutions team. This on-site role involves designing, implementing, securing, and supporting enterprise-level Windows and VMware environments. You'll collaborate across technical teams to ensure system availability, security compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Administration & Engineering

Serve as a Windows and VMware systems administrator, ensuring reliability and performance across multiple environments.

Design, implement, and manage complex information systems aligned with organizational objectives.

Deploy and maintain VMware high-availability virtualized infrastructure.

Create, deploy, and maintain system images in an enterprise environment.

Ensure compatibility with existing architectures when implementing system enhancements.

Security & Compliance

Operate within regulated information system environments such as NISPOM Chapter 8, RMF, STIG, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, JAFAN, or JSIG.

Follow strict information system security guidelines across all systems.

Maintain security audit logs and documentation as required.

Develop and update technical processes, documentation, and compliance materials.

Automation & Optimization

Develop and maintain Power Shell scripts and Group Policies.

Recommend and implement system enhancements related to performance, reliability, patching, and configuration management.

Maintenance & Operations

Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, coordinating with network, software, and system engineering teams.

Manage backup and recovery processes, disk/storage allocation, and antivirus operations.

Create and manage user/computer accounts, file permissions, and security access controls.

Collaboration & Support

Analyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate hardware/software solutions.

Engage with vendors to evaluate products, troubleshoot issues, and provide feedback.

Provide regular status updates for recurring and non-recurring project efforts.

Work independently and determine approaches to complex technical challenges.

Basic Qualifications

Associate degree with 10+ years of relevant experience,
or
Bachelor's degree with 8+ years,
or
Master's degree with 6+ years,
or
High school diploma/equivalent with 12+ years of relevant experience.

Security+ CE certification (must be maintained).

Hands-on experience with Windows Server OS and domain architecture.

Ability to support and administer multiple networks simultaneously.

Ability to lift equipment up to 40 lbs.

Willingness to work after hours or weekends when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in an information security or IT-related field.

Experience managing systems under NISPOM, RMF, STIG, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, JAFAN, or JSIG.

Strong background in installing, configuring, and maintaining networked computer hardware.

Server management experience.

Understanding of networking concepts such as subnets, routing, and VLANs;
Cisco experience/certification is a plus.

Experience with Linux operating systems.

Expertise with current versions of VMware.

Experience creating and deploying system images in enterprise environments.

Familiarity with Certification & Accreditation processes.

DoD 8140 certification in a primary OS (Windows or Linux).

Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
