Data Scientist/Data Analytics (Job #712)Defense Acquisition Support Services (DAS) is seeking a Data Scientist to support our customer at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
Responsibilities
As a Data Scientist supporting mission-critical Department of Defense programs, you will deliver dashboards, analysis, and automation solutions that directly inform senior military and government leadership. Using Python, SQL, Army Vantage, and Power BI
, you will turn complex data into actionable insights that drive mission success.
- Extract, clean, and integrate data from multiple enterprise data sources using Python and SQL
- Develop and maintain Army Vantage and Power BI dashboards used by leadership
- Perform data analysis and deliver actionable insights and reports
- Support ad-hoc data requests from stakeholders and leadership
- Build automation scripts and data pipelines to streamline workflows
- Automate business processes using Microsoft Power Platform tools
- Ensure compliance with DoD data governance and security standards
- Provide user support, training, and documentation
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in data science, data analytics, or related field supporting enterprise or government environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation, automation, and analysis.
- Experience developing dashboards and visualizations using Army Vantage and/or Microsoft Power BI.
- Experience working with multiple structured and unstructured data sources.
- Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience supporting DoD or Federal Government programs
- Experience with Army Vantage
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, SharePoint, Power Apps)
- Experience with data automation, ETL, or workflow optimization
