Position: SOA Suite Web Logic Server Architect

Duration: 2 Weeks

Scope of Work:

• Perform a discovery and investigation exercise of Client's current WLS infrastructure.
• Review Client's WLS platform infrastructure, architecture, operational processes, and production readiness.
• Review the physical environment where WLS is installed and deployed (covering hardware, storage, network and software)
• Review the current Oracle product installation, configuration, and deployment, this will include configuration for clustering, fail-over and high availability;
• Review operational and maintenance processes including monitoring and backups; and,
• Review WLS usage specifics including user volume, response time and concurrent sessions.
• Review your WLS application architecture, and deployment processes;
• Review your deployment processes, scripts and practices;
• Review your WLS installation and configuration for your applications and environments;
• Review your application usage specifics such as application messaging volume, message size, data reads, data writes, and application logging details; and,
• Review your WLS application design, usage of packaged vs. custom applications, Java EE applications, web services, Graphical User Interface (“GUI”) applications, and external service integration
• Document findings and recommendations for future state and industry practices for your applications and environments.
• Provide guidance to your key stakeholders on use of standard WLS, functionality and core features of your Oracle WLS to align with your business goals.
• Provide Oracle task outputs in an engagement report summarizing findings, impacts, short term and long term recommendation with your key stakeholders; additionally, conducting briefings for your key stakeholders to identify proceeding steps.
