Overview
Telecommunication Technician rea is a defense company delivering effects as-a-service across multiple domains. This role involves analyzing complex local and wide area network systems, planning, designing, evaluating, and configuring operating systems and protocol suites for virtualized and containerized systems, and resolving interoperability problems across host, hypervisor, and guest nodes.
Base pay range
: $/yr - $/yr
- The Telecommunication Technician will load and configure cloud servers and vendor routers and switches (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) or white box alternatives.
- Support the acquisition of hardware and software and subcontractor services.
- Act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership to junior employees as needed.
- Experience:
8 years providing technical support for engineering and testing of complex software and hardware systems in the telecommunications field. - Experience with network planning for telecommunications switches.
- Experience with integration and system-level testing of telecommunications systems or platforms.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper or equivalent networking equipment.
- Experience with VMWare, QEMU, KVM, or Docker.
- Experience with Linux or Open Stack.
- Knowledge of telephony and telecommunications; knowledge of networking services and software-defined networking.
- Hands-on experience with installation, provisioning, maintenance, operation and testing of multiple equipment types (PBX, landline, GSM, GPRS, UMTS, LTE softswitch, SDH, ATM, routers, switches, and Network Management Systems).
- Working knowledge of signaling protocols such as SS7, CCITT #5, and R2.
- Experience with telecommunications and network analysis, performance, and communications tools (e.g., Hewlett-Packard, W&G, Tekelec, Firebird, Nethawk).
- Cisco CCNA or equivalent required; RHCSA preferred.
- Education:
HS diploma or GED.
- Employee must be a US citizen.
- Employee must have and maintain a Top-Secret SCI with Full-Scope Poly Clearance Level.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Position type:
Full-time; hours typical Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Exempt employees may be on-call;
Non-Exempt may require overtime with manager approval. - Travel: N/A
