The Role

As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer products. We are looking for someone with consumer electronics savvy and a proven track record of shipping commercially successful connected devices with good customer experiences. This is a highly technical role requiring experience with hardware development. You will have significant influence over the design and the test approach we take to develop the product.

You will be responsible for capturing, documenting, and communicating requirements throughout all stages of the product family's lifecycle. The right candidate will possess a strong technical and program management background, and will have a well-rounded technical background in consumer electronics.

The role also involves scoping and delivering large projects end-to-end, collecting requirements, writing specifications, and coordinating design/implementation efforts. Ideally, you possess a strong program management background, demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects, and a well-rounded technical proficiency in consumer electronic products. A Sr. TPM anticipates bottlenecks, uses great judgment to make trade-offs, and balances the business needs with technical constraints.

Your ability to understand the big picture of the project design and anticipate and plan dependencies is crucial. Your ability to take complex projects, break them into manageable pieces, and deliver timely results is invaluable.

Key job responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality products that optimize performance, cost, manufacturing, and reliability.
  • Work with key stakeholders in product management and engineering teams to define product requirements
  • Lead cross functional product development from design through delivery
  • Manage timeline, dependencies, and deliverables. Work with remote teams to deliver supporting hardware in sync with launch timelines.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks and change control

ComPAS (Companion Products & Services) team delivers 1P accessories and companion devices for multiple product verticals such as E-readers, Tablets, Fire TV, Echo, and Smart Home with both in-box and standalone products, at world class margins.

We are a customer-focused, fast-paced, and collaborative team. Our goal is to provide innovative products and experiences that deliver a disruptive value and exceptional experiences that make it easy for our customers to engage and interact with our devices. We expect our TPMs to be technical leaders, lead projects with autonomy amongst ambiguity.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • 7+ years of new hardware products development experience
  • 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech teams experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with Hardware engineering teams experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • 5+ years of working with external suppliers experience
  • Experience leading and influencing your team or organization, or experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware
