Overview
Are you looking for a highly rewarding opportunity that provides extensive career growth opportunity? Gilbane is seeking an HR Business Partner II to perform HR-related duties at a professional level and work with local business partners and senior HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. This role will sit primarily in our Baltimore, MD office. The position covers recruiting/employment, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation and employment law compliance.

Responsibilities- Investigate and resolve day-to-day employee relations problems, directly or through guidance to management
- Manage College Hiring and Intern Programs (includes career fair attendance and interviewing/hiring candidates to meet Business Unit College graduate hiring goals)
- Participate in the recruitment process by discussing staffing needs with management, interviewing key hires and making recommendations to management for hiring decisions
- Participate in staffing meetings to ensure workforce planning data is accurate and current
- Provide advice to managers on employee wages and salary administration
- Champion the annual performance appraisal process to ensure completion
- Organize and conduct new hire orientation
- Conduct exit interviews to identify lessons learned
- Coordinate and participate in the annual Succession Planning process
- Participate in HR Strategic plan initiatives for Business Units and Corporate
- Maintain awareness of current and changing employment laws
Qualifications
- BS or MS degree
- 5 to 8 years’ human resource experience, or a master’s degree in human resource management with two years’ HR experience
- Or 7 years of experience in HR, or any similar education/experience combination
- Minimum of 3 years HRBP experience required
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred but not required
- Human Resources capacity

- Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with coworkers and employees
- Fluent in Microsoft Office and HRIS software
Base pay range is $/yr - $/yr in Maryland, plus benefits and retirement program. Final salary determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market data.
