Overview
We are seeking a Research Project Coordinator
. The Scaling Lab is dedicated to discovering the mechanisms driving the development and maintenance of high blood pressure, insulin resistance, and dyslipidemia that occurs with increased fatness and decreased fitness (the cardiometabolic syndrome) and their end-organ effects including heart disease, kidney disease, and brain disease such as Alzheimer's. To accomplish these goals, the lab is utilizing evolutionary biology, comparative physiology, mathematical modeling, and large cohort studies such as ARIC, CARDIA, and MESA.
The lab consists of the PI, Dr. Young and four faculty, four scientists in training, and eight students. The work is funded through the philanthropic generosity of the PI's patients and others.
- Conduct independent library research.
- Supervise student efforts including performing literature reviews.
- Organize lab meetings.
- Generate and maintain project databases with support from the BEAD Core.
- Conduct data analysis with support from the BEAD Core.
- Develop tables and figures for reports and manuscripts.
- Draft abstracts, papers, and grants.
- Maintain knowledge of the study protocol.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- One year of related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
