Our treatment program seeks a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Counselor to help provide direction and support for our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for developing treatment and recovery plans, identifying behaviors that impede rehabilitation, and facilitating individual and group therapy sessions. The role requires client care with appropriate documentation for 10 clients per day; the official caseload will be determined upon hire.
Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of a case from date of entry to date of discharge.
- Evaluate and counsel patients' physical and mental behaviors.
- Meet with clinical supervisor once every two weeks remotely or in person.
- Participate in weekly in-service remotely.
- Develop appropriate treatment and recovery plans.
- Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
- Monitor patients over time to assess treatment progress.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, and social workers as needed.
- Identify behaviors that interfere with treatment and recovery.
- Maintain accurate and timely written documentation in EMR reporting system (or similar) as per training.
- Adhere to regulations of COMAR, CARF, and other regulatory bodies, and company policies related to service delivery and documentation; co‑facilitate orientation of new hires to these.
- Support the maintenance of a safe environment by participating in training and drills as requested.
- Maintain confidentiality of client records.
- Participate in external and internal audits/surveys (CARF/BHA) as directed.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
- Perform at least one billable service per hour of each scheduled workday; other duties as assigned.
15% of the time traveling for client events and activities.
Schedule- 8‑hour shift
- Monday to Friday; potential Saturdays for overtime.

Qualifications- At least a Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, human services, psychology or similar (preferred).
- Or hold any of the following licenses: LGPC, LCPC, LCADC, CAC‑AD, CSC‑AD, ADT, LGADC in Maryland.
- Previous experience with the treatment of clients with substance abuse issues or emotional, behavioral, or mental health problems.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate nature.
