Main Purpose

The main purpose of this full-time merit position is to provide mental health and/or substance-related disorder services to clients of Garrett County Center for Behavioral Health, including individual and group counseling services. This position will complete mental health diagnostics and/or substance use assessments/evaluations. The incumbent will provide services at any of the approved office locations and/or at a school location.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).

Experience:

Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).

These requirements are established by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists. The Department of Budget and Management, Office of Personnel Services and Benefits does not have the authority to accept substitutions or equivalents.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:

  • Experience working with substance-related disorder/mental health population
  • Experience working as part of a treatment team
  • Good communication skills
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • In accordance with Health Occupations Title 17 and Code of Maryland Regulations , candidates placed in this classification must be licensed by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).
  • Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
  • SELECTION PROCESS
