This facility is located two and a half hours from Baltimore, MD.

Main Purpose of Job

The Psychologist II position provides treatment services for patients/residents in accordance with Center policies and Psychology Department standards in order to help patients/residents improve their psychological functioning and accomplish objectives specified in their treatment plans. This Psychologist II position also completes psychological assessments of patients/residents in accordance with Center policies and Psychology Department standards in order to assist with patient/resident treatment planning, diagnosis, management and treatment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:

    Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists under the licensing requirements for Psychologists.
  • Experience:

    Two years of experience rendering psychological services or engaged in psychological research after receipt of the Psychologist license.

The desired candidate should possess the following:

  • Experience with psychiatric patients/residents.
  • Knowledge of personality, intelligence, interest and aptitude measurements.
Licenses, Registrations and Certifications
  • Candidates for this classification must be licensed as a Psychologist by the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists prior to permanent appointment to a position. Applicants who do not have a Maryland license may apply before receipt of the required license but the application will be designated in pending status by the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Testing Unit. When the license has been obtained, submit a copy of the license to MDH to remove the pending status from the application.
  • Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
  • Special Requirements

    Will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
