Job Details:

• Work 4x12 hour shifts per week

• 2 years of nursing experience required

• 1 year of Level I or Level II trauma experience required

• Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends

• Weekend coverage required with 6 weekend shifts per contract

• Holiday coverage required per unit needs

• May be expected to float to 3W as needed to care for ED overflow patients

• 48 hours of orientation provided

• Daily census of 200 patients with 200 visits per day

• Work with patients of all age groups: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS

• Triage experience required

• Valid Maryland or Compact license required at time of submission

• Annual modules required: 175 minutes for ED RN

• Patient diagnoses include trauma, stroke, cardiac/STEMI, behavioral health/acute mental health, and pediatric hem/onc

• Skills include arterial line management, central line care, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, neuro-trauma care, and blood product administration

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates as a Level II Trauma Center with comprehensive emergency services including a 73-bed emergency department. The facility features specialized centers including a Cath Lab, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Open Heart Center, Labor & Delivery, PICU & Pediatric hospital, and NICU. The emergency department provides interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services.
