Position: Family Living Support Specialist

Job Overview

This role supports children and/or adults living with their families or caregivers by promoting their full participation in community life. The position provides direct support and services that enhance daily living, independence, and social inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily living activities, including lifting, transferring, toileting, bathing, personal hygiene, meals, dressing, and participation in social activities.
  • Encourage meaningful community integration and positive social interaction.
  • Assist with implementing goals and outcomes outlined in the Individual Plan (IP).
  • Complete required documentation, such as progress notes, community integration logs, and incident reports.
  • Attend required meetings, in-service training, and scheduled supervisory sessions.
  • Collaborate effectively with professional and paraprofessional team members in the best interest of the individual supported.
  • Build positive, cooperative relationships with families and caregivers.
  • Support the individual’s recreational, cultural, and vacation interests and choices.
  • Promote opportunities for interaction with non-disabled peers.
  • Maintain accurate receipts and documentation for all financial responsibilities.
  • Properly use agency-approved timekeeping systems (e.g., KRONOS, if applicable).
  • Complete all required agency training for the position.
  • Maintain knowledge of agency emergency procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must be at least 20 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license (not provisional) with a clean driving record and at least 2.5 years driving experience
  • Must be able to transport people supported as needed
