: $1,500 for new Medical Assistant & Medical Office Specialist hires effective January 1, 2026 and expires May 31, 2026.

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant I demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the ages of patients served by their department. Additionally, the MAI demonstrates competency in applying these principles when providing individualized care to specific patients. The MAI assists the MD/NP/PA in performing procedures and operates, maintains, and calibrates all equipment.

  • Setting up and assisting with office procedures
  • Chaperone providers during patient examination
  • Taking pre‑op and post‑op photos of patients
  • Maintaining surgical instruments and transporting instruments to Central Sterile (CSS)
  • Processing surgical specimens and transporting them to Pathology
  • Maintaining and stocking exam rooms
  • Ordering clinical supplies
  • Completing FMLA and Disability forms
  • Cleaning and resetting exam rooms
  • Travel to satellite locations as needed
  • Taking patient vital signs, recording medical histories, and updating electronic health records (EHR)
  • Administering injections, blood draws, and immunizations as directed by healthcare providers (on‑site training provided)
  • Performing basic laboratory tests, including specimen collection and processing
  • Providing patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers
  • Drug / alcohol testing (training provided post hire)
  • Physical examinations (audiogram – training provided; spirometry – training provided; EKGs)
  • Injury care (wound care, gait training)
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year experience preferred as Medical Assistant or EMT‑Paramedic
  • CPR‑preferred certification
  • Age specific care provided for:
    Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
  • Computer proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook;
    Meditech, Epic if applicable;
    Performance Manager/Net Learning
  • Must read, write, and speak English
  • Work independently and make independent decisions when warranted
  • Effective and tactful communication with personnel, patients, physicians, customers, and public
  • Flexible, personal integrity, and team function with other employees
  • Follow written and oral instructions
  • Travel to satellite offices as required
