Overview

Mental Health Therapist - Grace Medical Center - OP Behavioral Health - Adult/Children. Sign On Bonus Potential: $10,000.00. Facility: GRACE MEDICAL CENTER. Department: FMF-OP BEHAVIORAL HEALTH.

Schedule:

Full-time, Day shift, 8:30am-5:00pm.

Responsible for providing comprehensive outpatient psychiatric and/or substance use disorder assessment and treatment to a variety of patients in multiple programmatic settings.

Responsibilities
  • Provide initial and ongoing psychiatric evaluation to patients. Interview patients on admission to clinical program; obtain complete psychiatric, substance use disorder and medical health history; assess the extent of patient disability or disturbance. Collaborate with psychiatrist to formulate diagnostic impression. Provide ongoing assessment of the patient throughout the course of treatment.
  • Provide psychiatric and/or substance use disorder treatment to patients. Develop and implement initial treatment plan in collaboration with the psychiatrist. Function as a primary therapist, providing direct treatment using individual, group or family psychotherapy and crisis intervention techniques as clinically indicated. In collaboration with physician, monitor and evaluate the use of medications.
  • Coordinate care with necessary resources. In collaboration with psychiatrist, assign patients to appropriate level of care as determined by patient need. Work collaboratively with physicians, specialty clinics, and other social and community agencies; advocate for patients and refer to internal case manager and/or other treatment facility and/or community resource as indicated.
  • Document all work as dictated by regulating agencies and insurance carriers. Maintain and update patient records; document information regarding patient status and progress in accordance with departmental policy and peer review standards. Complete all paperwork and online submission of clinical information necessary for charge reimbursement in a timely and comprehensive manner.
  • Educate others regarding psychiatric and/or substance abuse issues and treatment. Stay abreast of current trends in the field. Provide educational and consultative services to hospital personnel, students and the community. Provide clinical supervision to assigned staff. Engage in personal development activities.
  • Patient population includes adults and children.
Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s in Social Work or Clinical Counseling.
  • Valid license in Maryland LMSW/LGPC required; LCSW-C/LCPC preferred
  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association
