The Patient Care Technician is responsible for:
Under the supervision of a nurse, and taking into consideration the developmental needs of the patient, performs routine patient activities and delegated patient care procedures of a specialized and technical nature as competency documentation designates.

• Assist the patient with changing/dressing
• Transport the patient by stretcher, bed, or wheelchair (this is a large part of the job)
• Identify abnormal findings that could adversely affect surgical and patient outcomes, including abnormal vital signs, Accucheck results, lab, EKG, and CXR results
• Report all abnormal findings to the appropriate nursing staff
• Escort patients to holding rooms
• Assist with patient changing, and removal of belongings such as jewelry, dentures, contact lenses, etc.
• Verify patient information
• Orient patients and families to the environment
• Obtain vital signs

Provides basic clinical skills required to safely perform routine delegated patient care activities, record and report pertinent clinical data, knowledge and use of specialized patient care equipment

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• BLS certification provided by AHA, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network

One year of clinical experience is required or successful completion of the intern program

Salary Range:
Minimum $18.41/hour - Maximum $27.70/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
