District Sales Manager - Diabetes Care - Baltimore, MD

Overview

The Opportunity is a remote role in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. Abbott is a global healthcare leader delivering high-quality products and services across diagnostics, medical devices, nutrition, and branded medicines. Abbott employs 114,000 colleagues in more than 160 countries.

This position focuses on sales leadership within a district, driving performance of a team of representatives, collaborating with marketing and other sales channels, and ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines.

• Meet and exceed District sales goals
• Lead, hire, teach, coach and develop representatives to exceed sales goals
• Provide strategic and tactical feedback to marketing
• Implement the divisional sales and marketing programs
• Implement control measures for monitoring representative activity in the field
• Monitor performance and adjust resources and approach as needed
• Ensure all activities comply with corporate guidelines
• Ensure each representative is properly trained
• Utilize reports for call tracking, territory analysis, and sample accountability
• Work with representatives in the field to coach and assess skills
• Accountable for retail and managed care accounts within the defined district
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

• Bachelors Degree
• Minimum 2-4 years of selling experience with at least 1 cross-training role
• Selling in another channel
• Demonstrated coaching, leadership, and planning skills
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Understanding of who our customers are
• Customers expect a certain level of competency from partners

• Marketing and training experience are highly desirable
• Previous management experience is desirable
